Whether you are a morning person or a night owl, there are times when getting out of bed feels like a chore. This is especially true for those of us who have to cope with the British winter, during which it is not unusual to have as few as 8 hours of daylight.
Lack of sunlight is one of the reasons why we struggle to wake up, so if you find yourself hitting the snooze button again and again, the Philips HF3606 Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock may be exactly what you need. This sunrise alarm clock is the result of intensive research and its results have been clinically proven, as more than 90 percent of users surveyed said that the HF3606 helped them wake up feeling more refreshed.
PHILIPS HF3606 REVIEW HIGHLIGHTS
Sunrise simulation inspired by nature
The Philips HF3606 Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock has been created to help you wake up in a more pleasant and natural way irrespective of the time of the year or time zone you may be in.
This wake-up light alarm clock simulates a real sunrise through the gradual changes in the hue and intensity of its yellow “sunrise” light effect. The smart sunrise simulation technology activates itself half an hour before the time the alarm is set, and over 30 minutes it will progressively brighten up a room just like daylight would do.
Adjustable light settings
Philips has always done a great job at creating useful devices whose settings can be personalised, and the HF3606 light alarm clock is no exception. Recognising that people have different levels of light sensitivity, Philips has designed this device so that the brightness of its light alarm can be adjusted to suit the user's preferences.
The HF3606 comes with 10 different levels of light intensity up to a maximum of 200 lux (which is equivalent to the light given off by a 60-watt light bulb). One thing to remember is that the higher the light intensity level is set, the less time you will need to wake up, and vice versa.
A choice of sound alarms
If you find that you need something more than a lit up room to wake up, this Philips wake-up light offers an additional alarm option consisting of 2 different audio alarms. As it happens with other Philips wake-up lights, the HF3606 stays away from loud and piercing alarm clock sounds and instead uses gentle audio alarms inspired by natural sounds (bird songs). On the other hand, if you don't really need a sound alarm and simply want to rely on the sunrise simulation option, you can always turn the volume off.
LED touch-enabled display
The HF3606 is shaped as a disc and features a LED-powered display on the front that shows the time, current brightness settings, and whether the alarm is set. Display brightness can be adjusted by just tapping one of the 9 touch-sensitive buttons available. There are 4 display brightness levels to choose from.
Reading lamp function
Like we have mentioned before, the Philips HF3606 has a maximum lighting output of 200 lux or 60 Watts. This means that you can use this wake-up light alarm clock as a reading lamp or as a portable nightstand lamp at home or when you travel. A very useful feature indeed if bedside space is limited in your bedroom.
